Mannings Front of House Supervisor Annie Cook tells her secrets of excellent service, making a sesame-coated scene in the restaurant and meeting a certain Mr Geldof:
Tell us a little about yourself please Annie?
Hello! I’m the Front of House Supervisor at Mannings, and I not only know the hotel inside out, I also have a photographic memory when it comes to guest preferences!
What’s your favourite part of Front of House?
I just love talking to customers and making sure they’re happy, I pride myself on being able to tell who’s game for a laugh as soon as they walk though the door.
What makes Mannings so special for you?
It’s a real family business; over my years here I’ve seen a lot of staff changes, and it always brings a smile to my face when younger ones return from university adventures.
Favourite thing on the Mannings menu?
At this point in time it’s the coconut salmon. Fish is one of my favourites and the sesame seeds and colours always create a stir in the restaurant!
Finally, the big question: What’s your secret for excellent service?
Oh, that’s easy! A thoughtful, down to earth approach to every customer works wonders – one thing is to remember their favourite order: they love it when we ask if they want ‘the usual’!
