Hi Zoe! We thought we would interview you this month as we know how popular you are with the guests and having been part of the Mannings crew for the past ten years it is high time we featured you in the spotlight!
What is the best thing about working at Mannings?
Without a doubt the people – The people I work for, the people I work with and most importantly, the people I get to meet every day in my job, who come back time and time again to see us.
What is your favourite dish?
A succulent fillet steak as rare as it comes with a rich port wine jus… yes!
Where is the best place you’ve ever eaten?
For starters.. A Steak Tartare starter I had at Raymond Blanc Brasserie in Cheltenham. Seasoned to perfection and just looked too good to eat.
For main… Hard to choose, but a back street in Florence allowed me to stumble across the most amazing pizza. Simple things, with great fresh flavoured produce…Bellissimo!
And for desserts, my grandma made simply the most incredible puddings. There is no comparison.
Drink of choice?
It all depends on where I am.
In the sunshine you can not beat a gin and tonic, a measure of Tarquins full of ice and a twist of orange zest.
If the weather has taken a Cornish turn and there is cheese around, then please pass me a glass of Tawny Port.
Anywhere … A crisp, dry French Muscadet. A LARGE crisp, dry French Muscadet!
We’ll just order you a bottle! Tell us a secret about yourself
Well I can’t give away such things…
If you could have dinner at Mannings with any 3 people of your choice who would they be and why?
David Attenborough for the conversation
Seasick Steve for the music
And my first choice… my partner, because we work opposite shifts I rarely get to have dinner with him!
So now we know more about our Zoe, do say hi next time you’re in and if you know Seasick Steve, get him to Mannings for dinner as a treat for Zoe!
